Fiancée
Marriage to a United States citizen qualifies a foreign-born person for a Green Card. The Fiance Visa is the legal way to enter the U.S. with the intention of marrying a U.S. citizen.
The Fiance Visa permits a fiance to enter the U.S. as long as the marriage takes place within 90 days of entry. The visa may not be extended so the marriage must take place within this time limit.
The applicant may work in the U.S. during the 90 day period. Immediately after the marriage the Green Card petition may be filed.
Fiancee visas are ONLY for the U.S. citizens who apply for their fiancees. Another important condition is that the fiancees must have met and be able to prove that they have met within the two (2) years preceding the filing of the petition.
